ALTERNATIVE ENGAGEMENT RINGS
If you're here, you're likely seeking something different—an alternative engagement ring that steps away from tradition and speaks more honestly to your idea of love, commitment, and ceremony.
My Melbourne studio exists for those who value meaning over convention, and who want a ring that feels personal, expressive, and quietly powerful.
Each engagement ring is designed and handcrafted by me in solid gold and sterling silver. My work features unconventional stones such as champagne diamonds, desert and cinnamon diamonds, salt and pepper diamonds, black diamonds, all gracefully set within sculptural forms celebrating my signature geological textures.
I believe love is a practice; evolving, imperfect, and deeply individual. So your ring should be too.
Whether you choose from my Ready To Wear collection or commission something bespoke, every piece is crafted slowly, intentionally, and with the care such moments deserve.

WHY CHOOSE AN ALTERNATIVE ENGAGEMENT RING?
The difference between a conventional ring and an alternative one isn't just aesthetic. It's philosophical.
My pieces are shaped by intention rather than trends. Work that feels personal now and enduring over time. Salt and pepper diamonds with their own internal landscapes. Sculptural settings that carry geological weight. Organic forms that celebrate texture, nuance, and the understanding that no two love stories are identical.
Alternative engagement rings honour beauty and complexity. They speak with sincerity, reflecting the layered, nuanced and evolving nature of love rather than a single idealised version of it.
MY APPROACH
Every piece is handcrafted in my Melbourne studio with heavy, textured metalwork and carefully selected stones.
When it comes to Wedding and Engagement Jewellery I work primarily in solid Yellow, Rose or White Gold for its durability and preciousness. My signature is sculptural, geological forms—rings that feel pulled from the earth rather than designed on a screen. Salt and pepper diamonds, black diamonds, champagne diamonds, and sapphires in unexpected colours. Each one chosen for character, not perfection.
Whether you choose from my Ready To Wear collection or commission something bespoke, you'll work directly with me throughout the entire process. From selecting stones to shaping the final form, every decision is made in conversation between your vision and my hands.
These rings are crafted slowly, ethically, with longevity in mind. Made to be worn, loved, and passed down.

COMMISSIONS
Many of my engagement clients choose to commission something more custom or bespoke; working directly with me to create something entirely unique. This process typically takes 6-12 weeks from initial consultation to completion.

Frequently ASKED QUESTIONS
How much do alternative engagement rings cost?
Ready To Wear engagement rings have fixed pricing listed on each product page, starting from $2,720.
Custom and Bespoke commissions are individually priced based on materials, stone selection, and design complexity. To honour the time, care, and creative depth each piece deserves, bespoke projects have minimum spends of:
- Sterling Silver (no gemstones) from AUD $850
- 9ct Gold (no gemstones) from AUD $1,500
- 18ct Gold (no gemstones) from AUD $3,000
Pricing for bespoke work is confirmed once materials and design are established.
What's the difference between "Ready To Wear" and "Custom" or "Bespoke"?
Ready To Wear engagement rings are considered 'finished designs'—you order it exactly as pictured to your specifications of size and metal.
A Custom ngagement ring adapts an existing design from my Ready To Wear collections with minor modifications (such as the addition/removal of gemstones, change of available gemstone, engraving, etc).
A Bespoke engagement ring involves more significant creative development, resulting in something meaningfully distinct. While it will likely still carry the essence of past work, it becomes its own form through major material, structural, or conceptual changes.
How quickly can I receive an Alternative Engagement Ring?
Ready To Wear rings: Production and delivery timelines are listed on each product page. Some pieces are ready to ship immediately, others require 4-6 weeks.
Custom engagement rings: Typically 6-8 weeks from design confirmation to completion.
Bespoke engagement rings: Typically 12+ weeks from design confirmation to completion.
What stones do you work with?
My favourite non-traditional gemstones for alternative wedding and engagement jewellery include Salt and pepper diamonds, black diamonds, champagne diamonds, desert and cinnamon diamonds, and coloured sapphires with unique characteristics.
Can I supply my own gemstone/s for the project?
I love working with clients' stones. They are always full of history and sentiment that ultimately enriches the finished piece of jewellery.
However—because I did not personally source the stone—I cannot guarantee it for defects during manufacturing. If you wish to bring your own gemstone/s to a Custom or Bespoke project you must agree to the provision that I accept no liability for the stone whilst in my care.
Only certain stones in good condition are suitable for re-purposing. An AUD$25 assessment fee per client-supplied gemstone applies; assessments are performed by an independent gemologist to confirm suitability for use.
Can I see the rings in person?
I don't operate a showroom, but face-to-face consultations can be arranged for Melbourne clients (held at a location near the studio).
I can bring some samples to these meetings, though not my complete range.
My work is also represented at e.g.etal and Craft in Melbourne. While their selection may differ from what's currently on my website, you're welcome to view pieces there.
For all other clients, I work via email and can provide detailed photography.
Do you make traditional solitaire engagement rings?
I do make solitaire engagement rings; such as my popular Dawn Ring and Wither Ring designs, which are interpreted through my sculptural, textured aesthetic.
If you're looking for a classic, polished, six-prong Tiffany setting, that's not my work. But if you want a solitaire with character, geological texture, and raw beauty, absolutely.
What is the best metal to choose for my alternative engagement ring?
My preferred metal for wedding and engagement jewellery is 18ct Yellow, Rose or White Gold for its preciousness, depth of colour and excellent flexibility and durability for a lifetime of wear.
For information on the differences between metal alloys visit the Meet Your Metals page.
